Change your future with bmw circa 2015


With a design brief to create the BMW of 2015 by interpreting “the language evolution and the trademark essence in view of the company’s future perspectives,” students from Turin, Italy’s Istituto Europeo di Design came up with some fresh new bodies on which to affix the roundel. The radical designs incorporated such varied themes as relationships and community, African culture and design, and fundamental changes in structure and space. We can’t claim to understand every nuance of these thought provoking designs, but we can certainly pass them on to appreciate on a purely visual level. Click through the gallery above to enjoy.
The final projects of the Transportation Design students at Turin-based IED (istituto Europeo di Design), developed in partnership with BMW with the goal of creating a car for 2015 interpreting the language evolution and the brand’s philosophy.
The thesis brief was “Designing the BMW of 2015, interpreting the language evolution and the trademark essence, in view of the company’s future perspectives”.
