Elsa won an international model search in Costa Rica in 1995 and began to model in Mexico, the United States and Europe.
She went to Elite Model Management, and went on to appear on the covers of ELLE, Glamour, Mademoiselle and Marie Claire.
Besides magazine covers, she has done advertising for Dolce & Gabbana, Macy's, Episode, Óscar de la Renta, Nine West, Valentino, Jones New York, and Victoria's Secret.
