The Seychelles
- The dreamlike setting of the Seychelles makes it clear why they were once thought to be The Garden Of Eden. Hidden in the vast expense of the Indian Ocean these Islands have always been awe-inspiring to people who enjoy glorious tropical forests and pristine beaches unspoilt by the modern civilization. They were chosen several times as the best destination for holding Miss World contest.
- The Seychelles consist of 115 islands out of which 43 belong to the group of the Inner Islands, which are mostly granitic. Mahe, Praslinand La Digue are the largest and most popular of all….
- Victoria as the capital of Mahe and the world’s smallest capital city is home to almost entire population of the archipelago. The highest point in Mahe is Morne Seychellois, whiich is located in the very heart of the island. Mahe is known not only for being the most developed but also for its rich vegetation. Being so isolated from the rest of the world many of the birds species are endemic and can not be found elsewhere. The rare birds such as the bulbul, the black parrot and the fruit pigeon are mostly seen in the island of Praslin, which is far more quieter. It is a perfect location for exploring beautiful beaches with powdery soft sand and giant boulders which make the sight even more impressive. Two beaches that are referred to as the best in the country are Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette. The signature of the Seychelles is the strange Coco de Mer, which is the largest seed in the world and can also be found in this island. Praslin’s Vallee de Maiis the place where more than 6,coc coco de mer palms still continue to thrive. One of these enormous fruits can weigh up to 20kg. It is believed that it has some aphrodisiac effects because of its sexual connotation and form. Once you see the seed of coco de mer, it will become clear to you why it is considered to be a natural phenomenon.La Digue is the third most populated of the islands. You will be nothing but fascinated with its outstanding beauty, white sand beaches and secluded coves. This island is undeniably impressive and will truly leave you breathless.
- The other 72 belong to the group of The Outer Islands. Since they are situated far away from the main ones, they are less visited by tourists. These pristine worlds are habitats to masses of birds, giant turtles and other distinctive wildlife creatures.
- Being so unique and extraordinary the Seychelles will be too hard for you to resist.
